Opticore IT are currently searching for Network Engineers who are operating at a CCNPlevel with strong general routing and switching knowledge to come and join the team. You'll join our excelling team, based in the London area.

Opticore IT is a specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within fast-paced, challenging environments across our client base spanning multiple sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications and more.

You will be working on multiple projects, mainly through deployments around the 25 offices in the UK and I and Channel Islands. The initial project will be rolling out a Palo Alto SDWAN deployment with the lead/Design engineer remotely supploting deployments

What you'll be doing:

• Deliver network deployments across multiple concurrent projects under the direction of the IT/Network Manager

• Support key programmes including data centre exit, SD-WAN rollout (Palo Alto), WiFi refresh, and ISE refresh initiatives

• Execute project delivery across UK and London-based environments

• Travel to customer sites as required to support onsite deployment activities

• Perform end-to-end change activities in line with Change Management processes, including discovery, pre-work, implementation, testing, validation, and regression

• Undertake technical migration tasks to support ongoing network transformation programmes

• Produce clear and accurate documentation for all migration and implementation activities

• Work collaboratively with IT teams and business stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and alignment

• Operate flexibly, including out-of-hours and weekend work, to support critical deployment windows

• Apply strong technical expertise and hands-on capability to complete complex network migration and deployment tasks

What you'll bring:

• This is a field engineer position, and with that, it means that you will be expected to travel to client sites across the UK. You need to be comfortable with this.

• Solid knowledge and hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies. CCNP Level capability - BGP, OSPF, static routing, IP addressing/subnetting, ASR/ISR routers.

• A history of working with Palo Alto firewalls.

• Confident in troubleshooting, configuring and optimising enterprise-grade routing and switching environments

• Excellent change control risk analysis.

• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively with peers
